RhodesTrip is a narrative driving game that reflects on the nostalgia for a bygone era. Its major themes include the over-corporate homogenization of an entire country, the abandonment of physical communal spaces, and the loss of fun for fun's sake on a journey about letting go.
+What was the inspiration of the game?
What made your team decide to make this game specifically?
This game was inspired by our love for roadtrips and how they facilitate self-discovery and meaningful connections with others, in addition to our yearning for the whimsy of the 90s/early 2000s. We were inspired by Steambot Chronicles, Night in the Woods, and Oxenfree.

This game was developed by Vaneeza Usman, Alex Tang, Maggie Wang, and Marty Scott. All members participated in designing their own levels, writing, and voice acting.
Alex was our lead writer in addition to co-producing, programming, and designing the narrative.
Vaneeza was our concept artist, 2D game artist, and minigame programmer.
Maggie was our art director and spearheaded art cohesion, UI design, and promotional art.
Marty was our audio engineer, leading both music and sound effects, in addition to co-producing, programming, and designing the narrative.
