+In one or two sentences, describe the main themes present in your game.
ManTaoFu is a boss-rush pinball on a circular battleground that based on a traditional Chinese art style.
+What was the inspiration of the game?
What made your team decide to make this game specifically?
We tried to make a game that's in between real time based battle and turn based battle.
+Were there difficult moments when developing the game? What led to those difficult moments? What did you learn from it?
The difficult part was the decision to rework the mechanics. After our first build last year, we decided to rework on some systems that did not perform well in our desired game flow. Creating new things is not easy but getting rid of previous works is even harder. It was painful when the process started but everything worth after the change.
+Were there features you had to remove, and if so, what were they and why were they removed?
We originally have a clear distinction between turns, which enemies only move when the player don't. The skills are also not predetermined by the player, but drops from special blocks in battle. You will also need to clear the board to deal damage to the enemy! It's not these designs are bad, just we are trying to find the best fit ones.
+Talk about your teammates! What was everyone's role?
Chongque and Erek are roommates who started the project. Chongque did the coding and Erek did the visual and sound, and they designed together. Later, Kai was absorbed into the team and helped with coding and design.
