Look of Love's overarching theme is the following aphorism: love is a game. Look of Love is a LitRPG dating sim with branching routes that allows you to connect with NPCs as people to explore the dualities of this theme.
+What was the inspiration of the game?
What made your team decide to make this game specifically?
A Sid Meier quote resonates with me to such an extent that it’s included in the game’s prelude: “A game is a series of interesting choices.” I designed this choose-your-own-adventure book as an effective way to demonstrate this concept through narrative branching pathways, to show how books are interactive and stimulate the mind to create a playful environment.
+Were there difficult moments when developing the game? What led to those difficult moments? What did you learn from it?
The most difficult moments I had while developing this game can be narrowed down to the fact that I started this project at the beginning of the spring semester. In those difficult moments, I was mostly experiencing the pressure that accumulated due to developing this thesis in one semester as a solo project. I learned how to adjust my workflow to be more efficient and to trust my instincts while rapidly prototyping.
